Video: CAIR-GA Co-Hosts Interfaith 9/11 Memorial Service on 15th Anniversary

CAIR GA 911(DECATUR, GA - 9/11/16) The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-GA) co-hosted an interfaith memorial service Sunday to mark the 15th anniversary of 9/11. 

CAIR-GA united with Rev. Dr. James L. Brewer-Calvert, senior pastor of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and representatives of the Catholic, Jewish and Sikh faiths to host "Remember, Reconcile, Relate."
"As Georgians of diverse faith traditions, we felt a special obligation to unite as one and pray for the thousands of men, women and children who lost their lives on 9/11," said Edward Ahmed Mitchell, executive director of CAIR-GA.
Attendees of diverse faiths met, greet and ate with each other for an hour starting at 3 p.m., before beginning the program at 4 p.m. During the memorial service, law enforcement and first responders delivered remarks about the sacrifices made by firefighters, police officers and paramedics on 9/11.
Representatives of different faiths will also to offer prayers for the victims of the attack.
